9.30.14

This afternoon my wonderful friend Jackie took pictures of my beautiful girls. This is just one of my shots from beside her...can't wait to see the "real" ones!

9.29.14

Today I took this little miss on a special birthday outing. Her birthday is only on Wednesday, but this worked out best with our schedule this week. Even after a big lunch, she wolfed down her free birthday cheesecake lickity-split!

[And yes, I took Joelle out for her birthday too, but it was on the same day as her party so a different picture won over that day!]

9.28.14

My girl is off crutches...but on to a walking boot. I took her in for a second round of X-rays and I'm glad I did because it turns out that there actually WAS a fracture in her foot! Apparently some of these small fractures don't always show up on X-rays for the first 10 days or so. She had a successful first weekend on it but we look forward to the day when she can be back to normal!

9.27.14

The beautiful balloon release at the annual Imagine run this afternoon. I wasn't running this year (I haven't ran in it since 2012), but with it being to raise awareness for mental health, it's an event very close to my heart and I want to do it next year.

So thankful for this bad-boy who plays a huge role in helping me sleep these last couple of nights. Love me some nasal spray.

9.25.14

Another busy day in a seemingly never ending string. But having a Mom so thoughtful is sure a blessing amidst all of life's stresses.

It was the most gorgeous evening tonight...the weather, the sky, the birds, lovely.

9.21.14

After just finishing watching a season of Master Chef (which was preceded by the Canadian version), my girls have learned the fine art of "plating" their food. They both took delight in making Master Chef-worthy (in their eyes) presentations of their Faspa tonight. This one is Malia's.

9.20.14

Happy Birthday to my 11 year old first born! She got to pick tonight's supper (double decker tacos) and family evening activity - Monopoly, with herself as the banker!

Love you, sweet girl. xoxo

9.19.14

Tomorrow is Joelle's 11th birthday, but her party with her friends was today. She chose to go to a movie (just like last year). This time it was Dolphin Tale 2...hence the dolphin cake!

9.18.14

After another busy day from start to finish, I apologize for another selfie. But it's either that or no picture...and we can't have that!!

9.17.14

And let the shopping begin...I can hardly believe it's birthday season around here again.

9.16.14

Sometimes, being a mom means that you wear rainbow loom bracelets that your kids made just for you...even out in public.

9.15.14

It's that time of year again! After hardly doing any crocheting over the summer (lack of time and lack of demand) I'm starting to get back into the groove and I'm realizing how much I missed it! Here are some of the things I've been working on in the last couple of days...with much more to come!

It's after 11:30pm and this is the first spare minute I've had all day. 'Night!

9.13.14

Today Les took the girls on a father/daughter date to a nearby demolition derby to give me a free afternoon. It was pure bliss!

Just a little pretzel word art before bed. Love this girl's creative mind.

I loved seeing the color in the clouds tonight. A beautiful reminder that God is real.

9.10.14

Things have not been overly wonderful for me lately for several reasons...but today, I did have at least a few moments where I felt positive about something. And that is worth remembering!

Advil and in bed before 10pm. It's been that kind of day.

Thirteen years ago, we exchanged these rings.

9.7.14

After Malia's main Christmas gift was a bust last year (a karaoke player with a microphone that didn't work), she finally got her replacement gifts today! Part of it was due to mine and Les' slacking off, but mostly she just could never make up her mind of what she wanted. Finally we just took her shopping and she chose a build-a-bear (say hello to Coconut, the monkey in her sleeping attire) and a remote control truck.

9.6.14

On Monday, Les and I will be celebrating 13 years of marriage! Tonight, being Saturday, was a better opportunity for a date night for the occasion so off we went! Dinner at The Keg, walking around The Forks and having ice cream for dessert was on the menu!

9.5.14

Earlier this summer was our first experience with stitches with one of our kids, and today it's with crutches. Joelle rolled her ankle in gym class, and after a visit to a nearby ER and two batches of x-rays, we were told it didn't look fractured but only sprained. Poor girl can't put any weight on it whatsoever though, so crutches it is...for a little while anyway.

9.4.14

Malia's uncontrollable knots were made a lot more manageable with today's haircut. I love this cut for her!

9.3.14

Happy first day of Grade 6 and Grade 4 for my two lovelies. Most people express sadness at their kids "growing up too fast" but I love the process.

9.2.14

Lunches for the first day back to school is one if the few times I make the girls' lunches for them. Yes, I am that mom!

My favorite part of the annual 3 hour drive back from church camp.
